Once you have selected a design, the supplier will provide the home's blueprints so that you can have a foundation, plumbing, and other essential utilities roughed in before the assembly of the log homes begins.

The kit may come with all the logs precut and ready to go together, or it may require you to make some adjustments to the materials as the home is built. The amount of work you want to put in is entirely up to you, and the log home material supplier can help you pick a kit that reflects that.

The builder will also hire subcontractors with log home experience, so things like the plumbing and the electrical are correctly run in the home. The log home materials needed to enable the electrical and the plumbing are a little different from the standard items used. The subcontractors installing them need to know how to work with the log walls without compromising the structure as the run wires and pipes through them.
